Houston Family Photographer: Photography & Pets Sessions – Angi Lewis Photography

Houston family photographer: photography pets sessions…

Pets are such a special part of our lives. For the last 11 years, I’ve been outnumbered with a husband, two teenage boys and our male German Shepherd Toby, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. We had to say goodbye to our beloved Toby last week. He was such a special part of our lives.  I treasure each day we had him. I’m also forever grateful that we included him in our own family photo session last fall.

As for some of my recent clients, I’ve been fortunate enough to photograph two families who included their pets in their sessions. Sadly, both of their sweet dogs (Tucker and Bosco) have also crossed the rainbow bridge since, but both families shared with me just how thankful they were to have included them in their sessions…

“My family had not had professional portraits done since our son was born.  We had our pictures taken by Angi Lewis Photography in October with the whole family- my husband and I, our 3 year old son, and our 13 year old Wheaten Terrier. Little did we know just how precious these pictures would be. We lost our sweet dog two months later. I would have eternally regretted not having professional family pictures of all of us together. I’m so thankful to have these.”

“Thanks so much, Angi. You’re a dog lover, too, so I know you understand how hard this is. Bosco was at a vet hospital downtown, and unfortunately that’s where we had to have him put down. On the very long ride home, my husband was mostly quiet, but he did say ‘I’m really glad we did those family portraits with Bosco.’ So I want you I know how grateful we are for your flexibility and accommodation of our request during a time that was also sad and stressful for your own family. You’ve been able to offer us a treasure. Thank you.”

Don’t forget Spot…

Hearing just how much their photographs with their late pets meant to them, it underscored just how special pets are in our lives and how they truly are like family. They provide companionship, laughter and unconditional love.

I specialize in family lifestyle photography. If your pets are a huge part of your life, don’t miss out on the chance to capture them in your next session. They are part of your world and as such, I would be honored to document your legacy with them. Please don’t forget Spot.
