These award shows are helpful for professionals like myself who want to get inspired by what other photographers are doing today. They’re also helpful for us to learn from our peers around the globe.
Here are some of the top, most prestigious international photography awards you might consider checking out or entering.
The IPA or International Photography Awards
The category winners in both professional and amateur levels, listed here, will compete for IPA’s top two awards, which will be announced at the annual Lucie Awards Gala. The main professional prize is International Photographer of the Year, selected from the 13 professional category winners and earning the coveted Lucie Trophy and a cash prize of $10,000. The 13 category winners in the non-professional/student categories will compete for the title of Discovery of the Year. Sony World Photography Awards
Created in partnership with Sony, the Sony World Photography Awards has been one of the world’s leading international photography awards for the past 13 years. A global voice for photography that provides a vital insight into contemporary photography today, it consists of four competitions: Professional, recognizing outstanding bodies of work, Open, rewarding exceptional standalone images, Student, awarding students from academic institutions, and Youth, celebrating the best single images by emerging photographers aged between 12-19 years-old.Open for any professional photographer and always free to enter, the competition covers a range of categories, from architecture, documentary, landscape, portraiture, sport, street photography, wildlife, travel, future and more. The total prize fund of $60,000 (USD) plus the latest Sony digital imaging equipment are shared between the winning photographers.
Monovisions Photography Awards
MonoVisions Photography Awards 2022 are an international open call for photographers using black and white medium to express their visual language. Our aim is to discover the best monochrome photographers from all over the world and deliver the best opportunities to be recognized and rewarded for their work. You can compete for $5000 in cash prizes in two categories: Black and White Photo of the Year 2022 and Black and White Series of the Year 2022. Our annual competition is open to photographers of all backgrounds and all levels, including – professionals and amateurs. We accept all forms of black and white photography created with traditional or digital methods.
